Il Gracefool Collective cerca nuovi performer collaborativi per un periodo di ricerca in vista del nuovo lavoro. Questo nuovo lavoro sarà sviluppato in una “site responsive performance” nel 2021 approfondendo i temi della condanna imminente, della fine dei tempi, degli inizi, della mortalità, del disastro climatico, del rifiuto ma anche della gioia collettiva.
Si cercano performer che abbiano idee e interesse verso i temi, che vogliano stare immersi nella pratica lavorativa collaborativa e che abbiano voglia di essere attivi e di partecipare nelle decisioni creative. La compagnia è particolarmente interessata verso performer che hanno anche una propria pratica creativa o coreografica e che pertanto vogliano portare questa capacità nel processo del Collettivo.
L’audizione si terrà a Leeds, nel Regno Unito, presso lo Yorkshire Dance, il 4 e 5 marzo (è richiesto un solo giorno di partecipazione).
Requisiti:
- bisogna avere formazione ed esperienza nella danza e/o nel teatro fisico
- tempistica comica e volontà a lavorare sembrando “sciocchi”
- avere confidenza ed esperienza con l’improvvisazione e con il testo
- buona etica sul lavoro ed essere collaborativi
- essere performer creativi e pensanti; avere interesse o esperienza nella coreografia o nel concept teatrale
- avere interesse verso i temi e lo stile del lavoro della compagnia
Capacità auspicabili:
- esperienza coreografica o teatrale
- scrittura creativa
- commedia/Clow
Periodo delle prove:
- dall’8 al 12 giugno a Londra (l’alloggio e i viaggi verranno forniti a coloro che stanno al di fuori di Londra)
- dal 22 al 26 giugno a Leeds (un contributo per i viaggi e la sistemazione di supporto può essere discussa per coloro che stanno fuori Leeds)
Potreste non essere richiesti per tutte le date indicate.
Paga: £500 alla settimana
La fase iniziale sarà di due settimane di lavoro di ricerca a cui seguirà una fase di sviluppo in autunno e poi la produzione e la tournée nel 2021. Con gli artisti si cerca di stabili rapporti collaborativi a lungo termine in vista di futuri progetti.
Il progetto è soggetto a finanziamento che non incide sulla retribuzione ma potrebbe incidere sulle date.

- breve video con vostra performance in cui, idealmente, danzate e parlate
- due risposte alla domanda: “a cosa assomiglierà la fine del mondo?” A questa domanda si può rispondere anche tramite video se preferite

Gracefool Collective Audition
Gracefool Collective are looking for new collaborative performers for an R&D of our new work. The work will be developed into a site responsive performance for 2021, delving into themes of impending doom, time, endings, beginnings, mortality, climate despair, denial and collective joy.
We are looking for devising performers who are interested in the themes, want to get stuck in to our collaborative working practice and are willing to be active participants in creative decision making. We are particularly interested in hearing from performers who also have their own creative or choreographic practice and will bring these skills into the making process with us.
AUDITION DETAILS:
Where: Yorkshire Dance, Leeds
When: 4th/ 5th March (you will only be required for one of these dates)
Deadline for applications: 23rd February
Requirements:
- Should have training and performance experience in dance and/or physical theatre
- Good comedic timing and willingness to play and be silly
- Must be confident and experienced in improvising and delivering text
- Good collaborative work ethic
- Creative and thoughtful performers – experience of or interest in choreography or devising theatre
- Interest in the themes and style of our work
Desired Skills:
- Choreographic or theatre making experience
- Creative writing
- Clowning/ comedy
PROJECT DATES:
- 8th-12th June – LONDON (accommodation and travel will be provided for those outside of London)
- 22nd-26th June – LEEDS (travel contribution and accommodation support can be discussed for those outside of Leeds)
You may not be required for all of these dates.
Fee: £500 per week
The initial phase will be two weeks of R&D. This will be followed by a further development phase in Autumn 2020 with a production and touring phase in 2021. We are also looking to develop long-term relationships with artists for potential future projects.
Please note this project is funding dependent, which will not affect the fee but may affect dates.

- An up to date C.V and cover letter explaining why you are interested in the project and why you would be a good fit for the company
- A short video of you performing, ideally with both movement and speaking in
- A couple of sentences answering the question: “what will the end of the world look like?” This can also be answered via video if you prefer
